The tangled web of suspects include Max's ex-wife Eva, his son Josh, and his new partner, Maria. Meanwhile, Jack grows increasingly frustrated with Kate's hot-and-cold behaviour...
So who plays Max's wife Eva King, and who else joins the cast of The Good Ship Murder series 2 episode 3, set in Madeira? Here's what you need to know.
Angela Lonsdale guest stars as Max's wife Eva King in The Good Ship Murder cast
Cumberland-born actress Angela Lonsdale, 57, guest stars as Eva King in the cast of The Good Ship Murder series 2.
Coronation Street fans will know Angela for paying Emma Watts, née Taylor, between 2000 and 2003. Emma was a police officer, known for her long-lasting feud with neighbour Les Battersby, and troubled marriage to Curly Watts.
The popular couple both left Weatherfield in September 2003 after she got a promotion. After leaving the ITV soap, Angela went on to play Helen Coles in several episodes of The Bill.
Between 2007 and 2011, she portrayed another police office, this time DI Eva Moore in BBC soap Doctors. Subsequent parts include Emma in teen drama Wolfblood, Stella in This is England '90, and 'Scary' Sue Buchanan in Holby City.
Angela is also famous for playing Grace Lane in Our Girl between 2016 and 2020, Leanne in Run, Mrs Lavine in The Syndicate, and Gill Holmes in Hollyoaks. More recently, she starred as Mrs Hanley in one episode of All Creatures Great & Small.
Who is Angela Lonsdale's husband?
The actress Angela Lonsdale was previously married to EastEnders actor Perry Fenwick, who plays Billy Mitchell in the BBC One soap.
The pair married in 2005, and separated after five years in 2010. They have three children together. The pair have never confirmed if they are divorced, and neither has confirmed a new relationship.
At the time of the split, a spokesman for the couple said: "Perry Fenwick and Angela Lonsdale have sadly separated after five years of marriage.
"They will not be making any further comment."
Although we don't know much about Angela's love life, we do know that she is very close friends with Loose Women's Denise Welch. And Denise's two sons Matty Healy and Louis Healy call Angela "auntie".
