A Very Royal Scandal dramatises one of the most memorable hours in recent TV history - when Emily Maitlis interviewed Prince Andrew.

The interview saw Prince Andrew discuss his links to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. He also denied having sex with then 17-year-old Virginia Giuffre, saying he was in Pizza Express in Woking on the day the encounter was meant to have taken place.

He also claimed he could not have danced with Virginia, because she'd said he'd been "sweating profusely". He then claimed he did not sweat.

While A Very Royal Scandal covers Emily Maitlis' interview from the perspective of the former BBC journalist, Netflix's Scoop was based on Newsnight producer Sam McAlister's autobiographical book, Scoops.

Emily Maitlis acts as an executive producer on the Amazon Prime Video series, A Very Royal Scandal.

She recently told The Hollywood Reporter: "I guess I threw myself into the Amazon project because I’d met [screenwriter] Jeremy Brock and I really liked his work. I got to know Ruth Wilson incredibly well. I loved Michael Sheen. So it became just a really easy choice for me. I think you have to immerse yourself into the thing that feels like the right project for you."

Also worth noting that Rufus Sewell wore prosthetics in an attempt to resemble Prince Andrew while filming Scoop. And he does so successfully. Michael Sheen, however, does not.
