The MasterChef presenter embarks on a culinary journey through Ireland, starting in Dublin, where he learns about the role of the pub in Irish life and makes classic dish the Dublin coddle. He then hooks up with food historian and blogger Ketty Quigley, a French woman who has been living in the city for 17 years, who gives him a taste of the new Dublin, from coffee shops and cheese to chic wine bars. He ends at a foodie retreat in the Wicklow Mountains, where owner Lisa explains how she sources all her produce from an area a few miles around the property
