Ireland v England

Season 2025

Ireland v England (Kick-off 4.45pm). Mark Pougatch presents all the action from both teams' first match of the championship, held at Aviva Stadium. Ireland are the reigning champions, but suffered their only defeat in the last two stagings of the competition when England overcame them 23-22 at Twickenham last year. Marcus Smith's last-gasp drop-goal gave his team a memorable victory, but they were unable to maintain any consistency and ended up finishing third below France, and the Irish will go into this match as favourites. With analysis from Jonny Wilkinson, Eddie Jones, Brian O'Driscoll and Rory Best, pitchside inserts from Topsy Ojo and Maggie Alphonsi, and commentary by Nick Mullins, Ben Kay, and Gordon D'Arcy

Six Nations Live airs on ITV1 London +1 at 5:00 PM, Saturday 1 February. (Subtitles, live.)
