Julia must decide whether she is able to go through with her wedding day in light of what she has learned about Benjamin. She tries to confide in Della, only to discover that her daughter has come to empathise with her loyalty to Benjamin and been inspired to make a positive change in her own life. As she realises that cancelling the wedding risks causing her daughter pain, she turns to Ted, who tries to persuade her to give their relationship another chance. However, she rejects his fantasy of a happy past and forces him to come to terms with what he did to her
