Ruth Watson tries to reverse the fortunes of struggling hotels around Britain, starting in Hastings, East Sussex , where Peter Mann's 17-room Grand Hotel is rapidly losing business to cheaper rivals. Ruth encourages him to make the dining room more appealing by clearing the clutter and creating a quasi-museum, and orders a series of renovations before the relaunch party
