The 10 remaining home-bakers must steel themselves to face the full force of Paul Hollywood's discerning eye as Bread week arrives. For the signature bake, the contestants are given an hour-and-a-half to prepare quick breads with no proving - which results in creative flavours such as sweet chocolate loaves and manchego and prosciutto-stuffed bread coming to the fore. Next up is the technical challenge, in which Paul lulls the bakers into a false sense of security by asking them to make baguettes, a relatively simple task that concludes with 'the male judge' delivering one of his most brutal verdicts yet. Finally, a bicycle, a snake, a lion and even Brighton Pavilion find their way into the tent's ovens as the showstopper challenge sees the competitors crafting edible 3D bread sculptures
