The Traitors series 3 is coming soon, the BBC has confirmed, and Claudia Winkleman is back presenting.

It's one of THE top highlights of the TV year, and 2025 will even see the first celebrity version (apart from a very entertaining spoof for Comic Relief 2024).

So when's the start date of The Traitors 3 on BBC One and iPlayer, and what can we expect? Here's everything we know so far!

When is the start date for The Traitors series 3?

The third series of The Traitors will launch on Wednesday, January 01, 2025 at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.

What better festive gift is there?

For episodes 1 and 2, The Traitors will air at 8pm. From episode 3 onwards it will air at 9pm.

The show will air Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, as per last series. Series 1 and 2 of The Traitors are currently available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

'New series, and a whole new game'

BBC One has teased that The Traitors series 3 will be a "new series, and a whole new game".

Although they haven't yet revealed specific details of the upcoming third series, we can expect a new group of strangers. They will play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning up to £120,000.

Some will be faithfuls, some will be traitors. But who will make it through to win the cash?

The Traitors spin-off show

The podcast Traitors Uncloaked, hosted by stand-up comedian and presenter Ed Gamble, will also return.

It will be available directly after every episode of the main show on BBC Two and iPlayer.

An extended version with additional guests, further theories and essential analysis will be available on BBC Sounds.

Is there a celebrity version of The Traitors?

Series 3 of The Traitors will be a "civilian series". A celebrity series is also coming in 2025. More details will be announced in due course.

However, speculation about the famous faces taking part is rife. Celebs including Alan Carr, Stephen Fry, Paloma Faith, Tom Daley, Claire Balding, Robert Peston, and even Courteney Cox has been linked.

The Sun has even reported that Daisy May Cooper and her brother Charlie will be taking part. Now THAT is genius casting, if true.

The Traitors series 3 will start on New Year's Day at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
