Netflix has confirmed some of the leading cast of the upcoming Black Mirror series 7 - and it's pretty epic.

As well as some seasoned British favourites - including Killing Eve and Succession star Harriet Walter, there are also some amazing names from across the pond.

What do we know about the plot of Black Mirror series 7?

Charlie Brooker's satirical anthology series Black Mirror has been recommissioned for a 7th series.

Netflix has revealed that there will be six brand new episodes, including a sequel to the sci-fi adventure USS Callister.

Of course, Black Mirror fans will know that USS Callister was the first episode in season 4. It starred Jesse Plemons as Captain Robert Daly.

Daly presided over his crew with wisdom and courage - until a new recruit soon discovered that nothing on the spaceship was what it seemed.

The series is currently filming in the UK and Canada, and will be returning to Netflix in 2025.

Who's in the cast of Black Mirror series 7?

Ever since Black Mirror first launched more than a decade ago in 2011, the cast always included big names.

Series 1 alone saw the likes of award-winning Daniel Kaluuya, Jessica Brown Findlay, and Rupert Everett. Further names in later series included Aaron Paul, Jon Hamm, Salma Hayek, Bryce Dallas Howard, Andrew Scott, and Miley Cyrus in a rare return to acting.

The cast of Black Mirror series 7 will be no exception. In fact, we'd go so far as to say they've excelled themselves.

Ocean's Eight actress Awkwafina will appear in one of the new episodes, as will former Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi, Billions' Paul Giamatti, and Sunny's Rashida Jones.

The fabulous Harriet Walter, of The Crown, has also joined the cast, alongside Deadpool and Wolverine's Emma Corrin, Road House's Billy Magnussen, Bridesmaids' Chris O’Dowd, and The Penguin's Cristin Milioti.

Meanwhile, Milanka Brooks (Mum And I Don't Talk Anymore), Patsy Ferran (Firebrand), Lewis Gribben (Blade Runner 2099), Osy Ikhile (Citadel), and Siena Kelly (Domino Day) will also star.

Blue Jean's Rosy McEwen, Barbie's Issa Rae, Horrible Histories' Paul G. Raymond, Black-ish's Tracee Ellis Ross, and Westworld's Jimmi Simpson are also starring in the upcoming series.

How many episodes is series 7?

Black Mirror series 7 will be six episodes. Each episode will be roughly one hour long.

Previous series have differed, with series one consisting of just three eps. Series 2 was four episodes long, while other series have varied between three and six.

Black Mirror series 7 will stream on Netflix sometime in 2025. All previous series are available to watch on the platform now.
