Dragons' Den series 22: Deborah tears up as Ukrainian refugee pitches her clothing company Nenya
By Helen FearDragons' Den series 22 continues with another batch of entrepreneurs walking out of the lift, and into what they hope is a dream result - and pitches this week include a Ukrainian fashion distributor, a dog swimming pool, a vertical bathroom, and bubble tea in a bottle and can.
Multimillionaires Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman, Sara Davies and Steven Bartlett consider the business ideas, but will they invest in any of them?
Here's a run down of all the pitches in tonight's Dragons' Den, as series 22 continues with episode 3, presented by Evan Davis.
Dragons' Den pitches: Ukrainian clothing company Nenya Fashion
Entrepreneur Yana Smaglo, an Ukrainian refugee who now lives in Leeds, pitches her fashion business Nenya Fashion.
She wants £80,000 for a 10% share in her business. And frankly, after just two years in the UK, we think she deserves it just for being able to face the Dragons and pitch in a second language!
Nenya Fashion is a distribution company that produces high-quality Ukrainian products for an international market. The mission being to help Ukrainian companies increase their sales and increase the economy by taxes. The business also creates jobs for Ukrainian refugees in the UK. Win/win.
Yana previously had a successful fashion and beauty business in Ukraine. They Spring 2025 collection includes an oversized decorated sweater for £188, an elegant striped knitted midi dress for £144, and a knitted polo jumper for £110.
After Yana's pitch, the ever delightful but rarely emotional Deborah admits she feels "choked up", while Peter reveals the pitch was "inspiring". But do they care enough to invest?
Dog swimming pool Canine Dip and Dive
Andrew Brownlie arrives in the Den with his Spaniel Buddy, and pitches his dog swimming pool business Canine Dip and Dive... Will they Dragons think he's barking mad?
The main pool is set in the Suffolk countryside, with two more in the UK - and the business is perfect for franchise. Canine Dip and Dive is a 32ft outdoor swimming pool for dogs.
Pools come with a floating ramp to make it easy for dogs to get in and out of the water, and a platform to dive in from for the more adventurous! Their humans are allowed in too to join them for a swim.
The area around the pool is fenced off and there are even a number of group classes or solo sessions. Prices start from £15 per dog per half hour session.
Dragons' Den pitches tonight: Vertebrae vertical bathroom system
Harrogate-based designer Paul Heron pitches his all-in-one bathroom invention - the "space-saving" Vertebrae vertical bathroom system.
An innovative, all-in one bathroom solution designed to maximise functionality while minimising space.
Perfect for small spaces, the Vertebrae unit stacks essential bathroom fixtures - shower, sink, toilet, and storage - into a sleek, vertical column which rotate for use.
Its "ergonomic, modular design rotates for easy access to each feature, transforming your bathroom experience without compromising on comfort or style". One standard product is £7,500 including VAT.
Paul wants £100,000 for 10% in the business. But Deborah immediately shares her reservations about having a sink so close to a toilet, while Peter Jones finds he's too tall to use it. Will they poo-poo his idea?
Dot Dot Bubble Tea in a bottle and can
London-based café owners Yandis Ying and Susanna Lau pitch their bubble tea in a bottle and can, Dot Dot. Susanna is a British journalist and blogger known as Susie Bubble, who met Yandis via their respective daughters.
They want £50,000 for 5% of their business, which sells "artisan-made, authentic taste bubble tea brewed with unique flavours and all the fun of bubble tea".
Having set up Dot Dot, a (very tiny) bubble tea and waffle shop on 37a Stoke Newington Church Street in London, they realised there was a gap in the market for bubble tea in a bottle or can.
Prices start at three bubble tea bottles for £9.99, or four cans for £10. The UK's first ready-to-drink bubble tea in glass bottles and cans launched at Selfridges in Summer 2023.
