A woman longs to marry the doctor treating her ailing father, but his mother will only allow it if she leaves her extended family, who rely on her to support them. After the old man dies, she opens a school and longs for the day when her family no longer need her so she can marry the doctor - but fate keeps stopping her from leaving.
