A polar bear hunts with her cubs, while the warmer weather of spring accelerates a process that will eventually see an area of ice the size of Australia disappear into the Arctic Ocean. A woolly bear caterpillar emerges from the snow after spending the winter frozen, and in Antarctica male Adelie penguins arrive to begin constructing nests in fierce storms as they try to attract mates
