Season 1 Episode 2 of 3

During the hottest time of year, the waterhole becomes busier in the cool of night. Using remote cameras, the team uncovers the new dynamics of the period following sunset. Hyenas move into the area, but they are so elusive that it is hard to know how big the clan is. Their arrival has a dramatic effect on other predators in the area, and no lions or leopards are spotted while they are around. Ella Al-Shamahi discovers how the increased footfall has changed the shape of the waterhole and how, as temperatures rise, the waterhole residents' behaviour is also changing

Waterhole: Africa's Animal Oasis airs on BBC Two Wales at 11:00 AM, Saturday 14 September. (Subtitles, repeat.)
