Donegal is the place in Ireland most associated with the O'Donnell surname. Hannah Ní Dhomhnaill goes on a journey back in time to learn more about her family and the history of her surname. Hannah is a post graduate student in Galway University and gets lots of new information about the family from her father when she returns home. She then decides to embark on a trip to Dublin to find out if there is a mention of the surname in the Book of Genealogies and speaks to Professor Nollaig Ó Muraíle. She later hears the story about the song O Donnell Abú from Finbarr Clancy
