The trail leads to Jay Newman, whose family are in the care of DS Elizabeth Marsh (guest star Jackie Clune) of the witness protection programme. Despite appeals to leave Jay out of the investigation because of the threat of reprisals, Grace presses him for information, putting his family at risk
