The Destiny continues to drift without power and the crew makes a failed attempt to avoid a collision with a star. Eventually, it is decided to abandon ship using the one remaining shuttle, hoping one of three nearby planets will support the castaways. However, feelings of relief are soon crushed when Colonel Young announces the vessel will only carry 17 people, meaning a draw must take place to decide who goes - with the exception of himself and Rush, who both opt to remain aboard
