Argentina v Austria
Argentina v Austria (Kick-off 6.00pm). Gabby Logan presents coverage of the Group J match at Dallas Stadium in the USA, as the two countries meet for just the fourth time, and the first time this century. The South American side won this tournament four years ago, beating France 4-2 on penalties after the game had ended 3-3, and will be aiming to join Germany and Italy in having four World Cup titles to their name. They reached their 14th consecutive finals by finishing top of the CONMEBOL qualifying group, winning 12 of their 18 matches and earning 38 points to finish nine points clear of nearest rivals Ecuador. Their opponents today are playing in this tournament for the first time this century, having last appeared at this event in 1998. Their best outing came at the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland when they finished third, losing 6-1 in the semi-final in Basel to eventual winners West Germany. They made it to this tournament after finishing top of their qualifying group ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Cyprus and San Marino to make it to their eighth World Cup.
