The first one requires two batches of perfectly uniform miniature classics - 24 gateaux Basques and 24 tartes Tatin, in just three and a half hours. For the showpiece challenge, the teams have five hours to reinvent a classic dessert - Battenberg - with teams striving to create an extraordinary version of this teatime favourite.
