Granville faces being left alone at Christmas as all his friends and neighbours make plans to go away. He is particularly dismayed to see Mavis planning a Christmas break with Madge, and terrified to learn that Mr Newbold is plotting an escape from Mrs Featherstone's advances, and leaving Granville entirely at her mercy. To make matters worse, the wily shopkeeper has a consignment of dodgy Christmas crackers to sell and a distinct shortage of customers. David Jason stars in the special festive episode
