On the first night in Peterborough, 39-year-old land surveyor and part-time musician Muneer hopes to win over his guests with a menu based on Pakistani recipes passed down through his family for generations. The authenticity extends beyond his food, with Muneer seating his guests on the floor of his specially dressed dining room. His guests include driving instructor Christine, hairdresser Ben, fiery Brazilian Rosie and fridge salesman Gregory. While his food receives mixed reviews, His guests discover his master plan for musical success, suffer bad jokes and find out that one of their fellow diners believes in mermaids
