A publicity-seeking actress with an urge to be famous comes up with a plan to make a name for herself. She rents a billboard in New York with her name and picture on it, and soon becomes an overnight sensation - despite not actually being famous for anything. Meanwhile, a wealthy playboy becomes infatuated with her, to the consternation of her film-maker boyfriend. Comedy, starring Judy Holliday, Peter Lawford and Jack Lemmon in his screen debut
