An apparently naïve doctor devises a controversial experiment to legalise all crime for one night. The idea of the Purge as a psychological experiment is to see whether a period of committing crime could in fact reduce such anti-social behaviour for the rest of the year. The theory is that the 'event' will illustrate not just the evil, but also the good in people. However, once the US government sanctions the trial, it is hijacked by right-wing ruling party the New Founding Fathers. Thriller prequel, starring Y'lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade and Marisa Tomei
