The crime drama starring Stephen Tompkinson returns with the first of a two-part story. A man and woman claiming to be social workers visit a mother and tell her they need to take her son away. However, when they fail to bring him back, it transpires that the pair are not known by the authorities. Banks is drawn into a full-scale search for the missing boy, but new evidence and inconsistent witness statements cause the detective to question the truth of what he has been told.
