Coverage of day one of the tournament at Eissporthalle, Frankfurt, featuring the opening set of group matches, which take place over the best of seven legs. A total of 40 teams will enter the competition with the aim of succeeding Wales as champions, who join England, The Netherlands, and Scotland in receiving a bye to the second round owing to their top four seedings. The 36 other teams are drawn into 12 groups of three, with just one team from each of those progressing to round two
