An Indian scientist living in the US returns to his own country following the death of his parents, hoping to find the woman who helped raise him as a child and take her back to America. However, a blossoming romance with a childhood friend and his involvement in a plan to restore a rural village's antiquated electric system lead him to question where he really belongs.
