Andrea's cover has been well and truly blown, leaving her to face the wrath of Gina and fatally compromising her testimony at the trial of rapist Alan Kennedy, who is acquitted. Desperate for a chance to redeem herself, she makes one last effort to gather incriminating evidence against Gabriel - only to end up being held hostage in a store room by the crazed copper. Events come to a head when Colin is dismissed after being exposed as a vicious racist and retaliates by handcuffing Ken in a petrol-doused van and crashing it into Sun Hill's front office. Blissfully unaware of the escalating crisis, Reg calls Marilyn's mobile phone at the station, intending to ask for her hand in marriage - and triggers a massive explosion
