Brooks, Devlin and Chandler investigate after a man is found badly beaten in a park. They discover the victim, Roland Kirk - who lives in a nearby camper van - had many enemies in the community, but nobody is willing to talk. The case then takes a decisive turn when a local man capitulates after being arrested and points the finger at architect Harry Morgan, whose son had recently turned against him and aligned himself with Kirk.
