The events of Febtuary 25, 2009, when Turkish Airlines Flight 1951 went down less than a mile from the runway at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, breaking into three pieces on impact and killing nine passengers and crew and all three pilots. A faulty radio altimeter was the initial catalyst in a chain of errors that led to the horrific crash.
