Riding an historic Tiger Moth bi-plane, Griff Rhys Jones arrives in the humid tropics of Darwin. He encounters a crocodile and an iconic news editor, before travelling through the night on a road train, arriving in the 'red centre' of Alice Springs - only to be surprised by the lush green sporting fields and the mysterious Americans playing baseball there. The presenter gets some tips on how to survive in the desert from an Aboriginal elder, before riding into the sunset on a camel - in tribute to the Afghan cameleers for which the legendary Ghan passenger train is named
