The Second World War unleashed the full horror of the Nazis on Poland, the Baltic States, Ukraine and Russia. Approximately 500,000 German women served on the Eastern front and the settlement of conquered lands commenced. The colonisers' death camps were established with support by secretaries, administrators, SS wives and female concentration camp guards.
