Major Gordon Corrigan recounts the story of a mission designed to indirectly cripple the infamous German battleship Tirpitz, sister of the Bismarck. There was only one dry dock outside Germany large enough to accommodate this vessel, so a commando team was sent to destroy it, ensuring any damage could not be easily repaired. Their plan was to send an old destroyer laden with explosives directly into the harbour, but first they would have to negotiate a maze of searchlights, radar and artillery undetected
