Season 1 Episode 5 of 6

Peter MacQueen considers the labrador retriever and sets out to uncover why it's Scotland's most popular breed. His first stop is a farm in Stirlingshire, where he learns about the labrador's origins as a skilled retriever, bred for fetching game from water. Eager to see these dogs in action, Peter heads to South Uist in the Outer Hebrides. Joining a shooting party before sunrise, he watches in awe as labradors plunge into cold waters, retrieving geese with ease and agility. Later, he visits Glasgow to meet some working guide dogs, discovering the breed's gentle, intelligent, and dependable qualities
