Briscoe and Green investigate the discovery of four bodies in a jeweller's shop. Suspicion soon falls on the husband of one of the victims, who is revealed to have changed his identity to escape a shady past. The shop's security tapes are subsequently discovered in his flat, but the defendant surprises everyone by insisting on representing himself in court - and makes a big impression on the jury
