A teacher goes to Africa to work at a missionary school, but has a traumatic encounter with a local witch doctor that drives her to a nervous breakdown. She returns to teach in a quiet English village, only to suspect a coven of witches is performing dark rituals - a claim that leads people to suspect she is going mad.
