The Last Igloo
The Last Igloo
Documentary following a day in the life of an Inuit hunter in Greenland, who builds one of the traditional ice dwellings while fishing through the sea ice. While igloos are no longer used as permanent homes, the traditional skills behind their construction are still used in building temporary shelters in the wilderness. The film captures this ingenious craft, which may be lost to the world as the ice sheet disappears
The Last Igloo airs on BBC Four at 12:40 AM, Tuesday 24 December. (Subtitles, audio description.)
