Dramatised documentary telling the story of how some of the greatest art works of all time were born of war and bloodshed, as rival artists Michelangelo, Leonardo and Raphael competed to craft beauty from chaos. The first episode shows Michelangelo Buonarroti and Leonardo da Vinci struggling to find work and navigate the whims of patrons in Renaissance Florence. The young Michelangelo is lucky enough to catch the eye of the de facto ruler of Florence Lorenzo de' Medici, while Leonardo offers his services to Ludovico Sforza, the Duke of Milan and a violent and dangerous man
