The life of Seán Mac Diarmada from Kiltyclogher, Co Leitrim, who became involved in politics at an early age, and soon became a major player in Sinn Féin. Alongside close friend and fellow IRB member Tom Clarke, Mac Diamada controlled the military council that planned the Easter Rising, and was executed for his role in the insurrection on May 12, 1916
