In 2004, Ben sustained a brain injury in a road accident, turning his world upside down. He meets Charlotte, a fellow Mancunian with similar confidence issues. The restaurant also welcomes Megan who is gearing up for the next Olympics, and entrepreneur Steven who has his work cut out trying to melt her heart. Other singleton diners include Xanthi, whose date with Richard gets off to an awkward start when he criticises Richard's hometown of Birmingham
