In an episode originally screened in 1992, the long suffering Scottish detective tries to defend a childhood friend recently released from prison when a series of shootings puts him in the frame for murder. Mark McManus stars as gruff crime buster Jim Taggart, while series regulars Blythe Duff (DS Jackie Reid) and James MacPherson (Mike Jardine) also star. There's also an appearance from Clare Grogan, best known for her work with the band Altered Images and cult TV hit Red Dwarf
