The top four players in the one-year rankings receive a bye to this stage, but three of those players were eliminated in the last eight in 2024, including top seed Judd Trump, who was convincingly beaten 10-4 by eventual champion Mark Williams. The other two to fall were Chinese duo Ding Junhui and Zhang Anda, who lost 10-8 to Mark Allen and Gary Wilson, respectively.
