Exploring the Highlands, home to some of Scotland's rarest and most iconic animals, many of which have been lost, but signs of recovery are beginning to emerge in these ancient lands. Hidden in the roof of an abandoned cottage, we find a female pine marten raising a family and these agile predators are helping out the local red squirrels by preying on the larger invasive grey squirrel
