Belgium v Iran

Belgium v Iran (Kick-off 8.00pm). Group G continues at Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood, USA, where the sides face each other for the first time in their history. Some of the Iranian players may be familiar to fans of England and Wales, having been drawn in the same group four years ago in Qatar, with mixed results. A 6-2 drubbing at the hands of England was followed by a 2-0 win against Wales, with both goals coming deep into injury time. They'll start as underdogs here against Belgium, whose manager Rudi Garcia is leading them for the first time in a major finals, having taken over the reins at the start of last year. Despite a star-studded squad, Belgium have flattered to deceive and were ignominiously dumped out of the tournament four years ago, scoring just one goal, and that in an unconvincing win against Canada. Both these sides drew their opening group matches with Belgium drawing 1-1 against Egypt, while Iran twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with New Zealand.
