The Galway Hooker is widely regarded as one of Ireland's most iconic images. These distinctive traditional sailing workboats have been built and maintained by generations of boat builders. This documentary looks at the future of the local boat-building craft as a shortage of young boat builders and the decline of suitable and affordable timber is having a disastrous effect on the repairing and restoration of these unique boats.
