The sleuth is called to Gossington Hall by her old friend Dolly Bantry (Joanna Lumley) when she finds the corpse of an unknown blonde in the library of her home. It soon transpires that there is no shortage of suspects, including local bad boy Basil Blake (Ben Miller) and Dolly's husband Arthur (James Fox), but when the victim is identified as a dancer in line to inherit a fortune, enquiries take a different turn.
