Scotland: The New Wild
Lowlands
Season 1 Episode 2 of 3
A look at life in the Lowlands, a vast swathe of land stretching from Aberdeenshire down to the border with England, where wildlife clings on despite the region being the most intensely managed part of Scotland's landscape. In the heart of Edinburgh, a pair of peregrine falcons raise a family just a few decades on from being on the cusp of extinction in the UK, while in Glasgow there are a hardy collection of water voles living nowhere near water, the only population known to live in burrows in open grassland anywhere in the UK
Scotland: The New Wild airs on BBC Two England at 8:00 AM, Thursday 7 November. (Subtitles, repeat, sign language, audio description.)
