Sara Pascoe hosts the quarter-final, which takes the sewers back to the golden era of 1930s fashion. Judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young challenge them to follow the pattern for a pair of women's sailor trousers, which have a complex bib-front opening and equally tricky pockets. They then transform men's shirts into women's blouses, before perfectly fitting a bias-cut evening gown reminiscent of outfits worn by Hollywood stars Katharine Hepburn and Bette Davis
