Examining the Sutton Hoo treasures the Franks Casket, the Staffordshire Hoard and the Lindisfarne Gospels, she uncovers the secret codes and symbols that reveal the pagan past and Christian future of the Anglo-Saxon people, and discusses how their artistic development was brought to an end by the Norman invasion of 1066
