Season 1 Episode 1 of 2

Part one of two. Documentary profile of the Queen's sister, whose life and loves reflected the social and sexual revolution that transformed Britain during the 20th-century. With archive footage and interviews, the series follows Margaret's life as she redefined the image of the modern princess, and begins with her birth in 1930. The abdication of her uncle propelled Margaret to second in line to the throne, but her life would be shaped by dramatic social change as Britain entered a more egalitarian era after the Second World War

Princess Margaret: The Rebel Royal airs on BBC Four HD at 8:00 PM, Thursday 19 September. (Subtitles, audio description.)
