The staff at Southampton's Princess Anne Maternity Hospital are put on alert as an influx of expectant mothers causes a shortage of beds - and the workload soon threatens to overwhelm the midwives and anaesthetists on duty. Among the patients is Amy, whose previous four conceptions all miscarried, and two women whose blood pressure levels need to be constantly monitored
