Part one of two. A friend of DCS Walker, the well-known paediatric surgeon Jonathan Carlisle, is found dead. When Connor investigates, she discovers a recent operation performed by the doctor resulted in a girl's death and that the surgeon had a restraining order issued against her grieving father.
